A 32-year-old woman from Longdenville, Chaguanas, was scammed out of $5,500 on June 25 after contacting a man on Facebook.
According to reports, the victim messaged the man on June 24 through a mutual friend. The individual, who identified himself as “Glenn,” said he worked at a supermarket in East Trinidad and could assist her in getting drinks at cheap prices.
The woman arranged to meet the next day around 11.30 am at the supermarket. She described "Glenn" as slim-built, of African descent, dark brown in complexion, with a low haircut.
