Police are investigating a report of larceny by trick after a woman was allegedly duped out of $12,000 by a man posing as a Housing Development Corporation (HDC) official.
The 44-year-old woman of Embacadere, San Fernando, reported that around 11.30 am last Fiday, she visited First Citizens Bank at Independence Square, Port of Spain, where she deposited $12,000 as a purported down payment for an HDC house.
The money was deposited into an account in the name of a man she said she met via Facebook and who introduced himself as an “HDC Coordinator.”
