Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the rob­bery and as­sault of a 48-year-old de­liv­ery­man who was at­tacked while of­fload­ing goods at a mi­ni-mart in San­ta Cruz on Mon­day af­ter­noon. The in­ci­dent oc­curred around 1.30 pm at Lynch Av­enue, Pi­p­i­ol Road, when two men ap­proached the vic­tim as he was mak­ing a de­liv­ery.

The sus­pects pulled him from the truck, threw him to the ground, and de­mand­ed mon­ey. The de­liv­ery­man hand­ed over $900 in sales be­fore one of the ban­dits struck him with a firearm.

The as­sailants then searched the truck and found a black bag con­tain­ing $17,500, which they stole be­fore flee­ing the scene. The de­liv­ery­man sus­tained in­juries from the as­sault.
