Police are investigating the robbery and assault of a 48-year-old deliveryman who was attacked while offloading goods at a mini-mart in Santa Cruz on Monday afternoon. The incident occurred around 1.30 pm at Lynch Avenue, Pipiol Road, when two men approached the victim as he was making a delivery.
The suspects pulled him from the truck, threw him to the ground, and demanded money. The deliveryman handed over $900 in sales before one of the bandits struck him with a firearm.
The assailants then searched the truck and found a black bag containing $17,500, which they stole before fleeing the scene. The deliveryman sustained injuries from the assault.
