A Cunupia family was held at gunpoint and robbed in their home early Thursday morning, losing thousands of dollars in cash, electronics, and jewellery.
Police said the victims were a 51-year-old truck driver; his 27-year-old son and a 21-year-old daughter, a UWI student.
Around 5:45 a.m., two armed men approached the back door of the residence on Chin Chin Road, tied the family’s hands behind their backs, and forced them face-down on the floor. The assailants stole three cell phones, a Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus ($6,700), a Samsung A series ($1,300), and a Samsung S20 ($6,300), along with US $1,600, $400 , a Nintendo Switch ($3,000), a wireless headset (US $350), and an assortment of jewellery.
