A suspect wanted by the police was arrested and a firearm and ammunition seized during intelligence-led police operations in La Romaine over two days, as the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) intensified anti-crime exercises across the Southern and South Western Divisions.
In a statement issued yesterday, police said the operation was conducted around 5.10 am on Friday. Officers assigned to the San Fernando Police Station, Southern Division Task Force and the San Fernando Criminal Investigation Department acted on information from the Echo Command Centre that a wanted suspect, believed to be armed, was at a house on Murli Street, La Romaine.
Officers carried out a search of the premises under Regulation 12 of the Emergency Powers Regulations, 2026, and allegedly found a firearm and six rounds of ammunition.
