The Miscellaneous Provisions (Alcohol, Cannabis, Dangerous Drugs, Gambling and Tobacco) Bill was passed in the House of Representatives on Wednesday night following a divided vote. Government members backed the legislation with 23 votes in favour, while all 10 Opposition members voted against it.
The bill, which amends provisions relating to alcohol, cannabis, dangerous drugs, gambling and tobacco, now moves one step closer to becoming law after securing approval in the Lower House despite opposition objections.
