SENATE President Wade Mark last night used his casting vote for the second time in less than a week to break a 15-15 deadlock and secure passage of the Government’s Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Property Amendment Bill.
The vote came after all 15 Government senators supported the Bill, while the six Opposition senators and all nine Independent senators voted against it.
With the Senate tied, Mark said he was required under the Constitution and Standing Orders to exercise a casting vote.
