THE Disaster Management Units (DMUs) of the Chaguanas Borough Corporation (CBC) and the Couva/Tabaquite/Talparo Regional Corporation (CTTRC) were on alert, as an adverse weather alert, yellow level, remained in effect until 10 p.m. last night.
An updated advisory, issued by the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service, stated that the axis of an active tropical wave was over the Caribbean Sea, and was moving steadily away from the region.
This activity resulted in heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms, it stated, adding that street and flash flooding, localised ponding, and landslides/landslips may be triggered.
