ADRIAN KISSOON, who sued the State after he was arrested, detained and prosecuted, was successful in his lawsuit for false imprisonment and malicious prosecution. Last week he was awarded over $200,000.
Justice Robin Mohammed gave the judgment.
In his claim, Kissoon stated that on March 19, 2024, he was in Barrackpore walking to meet his friends who were fishing when he was stopped, questioned and beaten by two officers. He said he was arrested and placed in a police vehicle with another man.
