ECD man wanted for killing businessman at Mowasie Landing

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) on Monday issued a wanted bulletin for 26-year-old Gavin Johnson, also called ‘Max’, for questioning in connection with the murder of Godfrey Gill, also called “Chucky,” at Mowasie Landing, Region Eight (Potaro-Siparuni).

It was reported that on August 20, 2026, Gill was in the vicinity of a shop at Mowasie Landing when a loud explosion was reportedly heard. He was subsequently discovered lying motionless on the ground with a gunshot injury to his body. Following the incident, a team of police ranks was dispatched to the location, and upon further investigation, Johnson was identified as a person of interest. As such, the GPF are asking anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of Johnson from Mowasie Landing and of Vryhied Lust South, East Coast Demerara (ECD) to contact the nearest Police Station.
