OPPOSITION Leader Pennelope Beckles claims the acting President, Wade Mark, made significant errors as he attempted to rush the consultation process to appoint a new Chief Justice.
In an urgent letter to the acting President on October 22, Beckles called on Mark to halt the process and instead appoint an acting chief justice to fill the vacancy as Chief Justice Ivor Archie demits office.
The process was not halted and Justice Ronnie Boodoosingh was appointed as Chief Justice at President's House before a small audience including his wife, daughter, Attorney General John Jeremie, outgoing chief justice Ivor Archie and other officials.
