The Opposition is calling for the resignation of the Attorney General, the Minister of Homeland Security, and the Commissioner of Police following the revocation of the Preventive Detention Orders issued against Dominic and Genevieve Hadeed earlier today.
About an hour ago, a release from the Homeland Ministry said, “The decision follows a comprehensive review of all relevant legal, medical and public interest considerations, including the recommendation of the Constitution Review Tribunal and ongoing assessments conducted under the Emergency Powers Regulations, 2026.”
Opposition Chief Whip Marvin Gonzales told the Express in a phone interview a short while ago that the revocation is justification for the Peoples’ National Movement’s persistent calls for a full scale investigation into the state's use of preventive detention orders under this current state of emergency.
