After a month of being detained since June 24, 2026, businessman Dominic Hadeed and his wife, Genevieve Hadeed, will be getting their freedom after Minister of Homeland Security Roger Alexander revoked the Preventative Detention Orders (PDOs) that kept them behind bars.

Alexander announced the decision today in a statement, saying that after reviewing all the circumstances surrounding their continued detention, he had determined that the balance now favoured their release.

The decision comes after the Review Tribunal recommended that their continued detention was “not necessary or expedient in the public interest” and the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council declined to expedite the State’s substantive appeal in the matter.
