A 69-year-old Petit Valley man was robbed of a gold chain valued at $17,000 while eating doubles in Barataria on Tuesday afternoon.
The victim, of Mon Coco Road, reported that around 2:40 p.m. , he was at Singh’s Doubles Shed at the corner of Aranguez Main Road and Satar Street when he felt a hand at the back of his neck.
He told police that his Spanish-link gold chain with a cross pendant was simultaneously pulled from his neck. When he turned around, he saw a man running out of the establishment and heading west along Satar Street.
