By midnight of 2025, Trinidad and Tobago would have recorded a 42% decrease in its murder toll, Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has said.
In a post on X yesterday the Prime Minister stated: “By midnight our murder rate will be down by 42%. The largest ever decline and the largest decline this year across the globe. And remember: 42% is 42% is 42%.”
Even before entering office following the April 28, 2025 general election, Persad-Bissessar had promised a decrease in crime in six months.
