Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has reported a significant decline in crime, stating that serious offences in Trinidad and Tobago have fallen by 30 per cent so far this year compared to the same period in 2025.
In a post on her official X (formerly Twitter) account yesterday afternoon, the Prime Minister said the reduction reflects improved safety under her administration.
“YOU ARE SAFER UNDER THE UNC’s LEADERSHIP,” she stated, adding that serious reported crimes dropped from 3,413 in 2025 to 2,397 in 2026.
