With about 10,000 former CEPEP workers now on the breadline, the National Parent Teacher Association (NPTA) wants Government to consider the possibly thousands of children may now face uncertainty as the new school term approaches.

Speaking at the NPTA 65th anniversary interfaith service at City Hall, Port of Spain yesterday, Association president Walter Stewart asked Government to reconsider its actions.

“While the grass is growing, the horse is starving, so whilst the Government said it’s putting things in place to plug loopholes, which is understandable, the parents don’t know where the next meal is coming from. We hear the cries of the parents and we cannot stand idly by and just wait to see what taking place with CEPEP,” Stewart said.
