A SENTENCE of 14 years’ imprisonment has been imposed on a 36-year-old man who pleaded guilty to the rape, grievous sexual assault, and robbery with aggravation of his aunt.
The sentencing by Justice Kathy Ann Waterman Latchoo took place yesterday for an incident that took place in June 2012.
The judge sentenced the man to 14 years’ imprisonment with hard labour for the counts of rape and grievous sexual assault, and six years’ imprisonment with hard labour for the count of robbery with aggravation. The sentences are to run concurrently, meaning he will only serve the higher sentence of 14 years.
