A Chaguanas vendor is in hospital after he was struck while attempting to cross the Uriah Butler Highway early Friday morning.
Around 12.50 a.m., Donavan Smith, 29, of Clarke Road East, had just exited a taxi on the northbound shoulder near Clarke Road West and was trying to cross the highway when he was hit.
He suffered lacerations to his right flank, abrasions to his face and forehead, and fractures to the tibia and fibula in his right leg. Smith was treated at the Chaguanas Accident & Emergency Department and later transferred to the Mt Hope General Hospital.
