Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine has already departed from Trinidad this afternoon after meeting with Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar and members of her Cabinet.

Caine arrived in Trinidad on an official US aircraft this morning at the Piarco International airport, and met with Persad-Bissessar at the diplomatic centre in St Ann’s.

Present at the meeting were Minister of Public Utilities Barry Padarath, Minister of Homeland Security Roger Alexander, Minister of Defence Wayne Sturge, and Attorney General John Jeremie. Details of what was discussed in the meeting have not yet been disclosed to the public.
