FORMER prime minister Dr Keith Rowley yesterday called for an immediate end to the ongoing state of emergency (SoE), and in a scathing critique of the Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar-led administration insisted that Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander and Attorney General John Jeremie be fired.

In a post to his Facebook page, Rowley accused Persad-Bissessar and her Government of hypocrisy, incompetence and abusing the state of emergency to pursue personal and political agendas.

He also responded to Persad-Bissessar's recent comments about racist and bigoted remarks directed at her, recalling that she had previously referred to him as an 'Oreo in the service of the 1%'.
