A marked police vehicle transporting a detainee flipped multiple times during a high-speed collision along the Priority Bus Route (PBR) in Arouca on Sunday night, leaving several officers and the prisoner injured.
The crash occurred around 9:58 p.m. at the intersection of Dinsley Main Road and the PBR. Police said a Toyota Land Cruiser assigned to the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) was heading west on the PBR with strobe lights activated but no sirens when it struck a beige Toyota Yaris Cross proceeding north on a green light.
The impact caused the Land Cruiser to overturn several times before coming to rest upside down about 90 feet from the intersection.
