Guyana is makÂing medÂical hisÂtoÂry on TuesÂday by parÂticÂiÂpatÂing in the groundÂbreakÂing roÂbotÂic carÂdiac surgery that will be perÂformed in that counÂtry by a speÂcialÂist based in InÂdia.
PresÂiÂdent IrÂfaan Ali, adÂdressÂing the DiÂaÂmond JuÂbilee Flag RaisÂing CerÂeÂmoÂny on MonÂday night, said that the proÂceÂdure will symÂbolÂise how far the counÂtry has adÂvanced since gainÂing inÂdeÂpenÂdence in 1966.
“…we will forÂmalÂly set our footÂprints in the hisÂtoÂry of healthÂcare. Our new surÂgeon, Mantra FreeÂdom 60, will perÂform a carÂdiac surgery from Guyana to InÂdia. The longest-disÂtance surgery in the hisÂtoÂry of mankind will be perÂformed from the shores of Guyana toÂmorÂrow,” PresÂiÂdent Ali said.
