Police in Oropouche are investigating a serious incident involving rape, kidnapping, and grievous sexual assault reported by a 25-year-old woman.

According to police reports, the victim arrived at the Oropouche Police Station on Sunday night to report that she had been abducted earlier that evening by her former partner, a 33-year-old taxi driver. The woman told officers that the suspect forced her into his vehicle and drove to a secluded area, where she was sexually assaulted.

After the assault, the woman was left near the shoreline at Carat Shed Beach in La Brea before making her way home. She was subsequently taken to the Siparia District Health Facility, where a medical examination confirmed injuries consistent with her account.
