A Venezuelan migrant and a Venezuelan girl are confirmed dead after a pirogue carrying 29 people overturned off Los Iros Beach during an illegal sea crossing to Venezuela on Wednesday.
The child was identified to the police as Brithanny Linneth Yanett León Palacios, who would have turned six years old on October 6.
The body of the man, whose identity was not yet confirmed by the authorities, was spotted floating off the shoreline around 2 p.m. by members of the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard, who brought it to the beach.
