The body of a six-year-old migrant girl was recovered from the rocky shoreline at Los Iros on Thursday morning, after a boat carrying illegal Venezuelan migrants overturned in waters off southwest Trinidad on Wednesday afternoon, leaving at least two adults unaccounted for.
The vessel, which was reportedly carrying about 30 passengers, including several children, was said to have been making the illegal journey to Venezuela when tragedy struck just after it launched from the shoreline.
Members of the Hunters Search and Rescue Team, led by Vallence Rambharat, responded to the area early Thursday morning after receiving reports of the incident.
