A Venezuelan man and a child are dead after a small boat carrying passengers illegally travelling from Venezuela to Trinidad and Tobago overturned while at sea.
According to officials, the tragedy unfolded shortly after 1pm on Wednesday, when a pirogue carrying approximately 30 men, women and children struck a rock while approaching Los Iros Beach.
The impact caused the vessel to capsize, throwing its occupants into the sea.
