THE entire board of the Point Lisas Industrial Port Development Corporation Ltd (Plipdeco) has resigned, effective July 18, when an annual general meeting (AGM) is scheduled to appoint new directors.
However, in a surprising twist, Plipdeco chairman Annette Wattie, in her resignation letter dated June 30, 2025, referenced a June 24, 2025, letter from Finance Minister Davendranath Tancoo which indicated that she had been fired.
In a letter dated July 1, 2025, Plipdeco's manager of legal services wrote to Tancoo and submitted the resignation letters of the six board members. They are: chairman Annette Wattie and directors Cindy Manson, St Clair O'Neil, Richardo Garcia, Ricardo Lewis, and Stephen Harris. The letter was copied to the Minister of Works and Infrastructure, Jearlean John.
