OPPOSITION Leader Pennelope Beckles yesterday debunked Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar's assurance that, according to the International Monetary Fund, Trinidad and Tobago's economy is set to expand.
Beckles said while the Ministry of Finance celebrates, the United National Congress (UNC) Government was attempting to mislead the population with propaganda.
In a Facebook post yesterday, Beckles stated that a report by the Jamaica Observer, following analysis of the IMF data cited by the Persad-Bissessar, had this week 'sounded the alarm on Trinidad and Tobago's worsening economic condition'.
