A six-year-old Chinese child died on Wednesday afternoon after sustaining a chop wound to his neck during an incident at Parika, East Bank Essequibo.
Police said initial enquiries revealed that at about 15:45h, the child sustained the injury during an incident involving a male Chinese national.
Cao was taken to the De Kinderen Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
