A Claxton Bay woman was assaulted and robbed Tuesday morning by three men demanding money they said was owed to them by the victim's late husband.
According to police, at around 3.30 a.m. the victim, a 46-year-old janitor, was asleep at home together with her 60-year-old mother and 64-year-old year-old aunt when they were awoken by a loud noise.
The three women observed three men in the room all wearing masks, and all armed with knives. The suspects proceeded to hit the victim about her face and demanded monies which they claimed her deceased husband had owed them.
