A POLICE constable and a civilian yesterday appeared before a High Court master, jointly charged with the murder of 63-year-old livestock farmer Vishnu Lalla, who was kidnapped from his Windsor Park, Couva, home earlier this month and found dead the following day.
The accused—PC Jason Beetam, 28, who was previously attached to the Chaguanas Police Station; and 26-year-old Govindra Lackram, a resident of Basta Hall, Couva—appeared before Master Whitney Franklin.
Beetam was represented by attorney Keron Ramkhalwhan; while Lackram was represented by attorney Andre Koomalsingh. Neither accused was called upon to plead and were remanded into prison custody.
