A POLICE constable and a civilian are scheduled to face a High Court master today, jointly charged with the murder of 63-year-old livestock farmer Vishnu Lalla who was kidnapped from his home earlier this month, and his body discovered a day later.
The accused are PC Jason Beetham, 28, who was attached to the Chaguanas Police Station, and Govindra Lackram, 26, a resident of Basta Hall, Couva.
Lalla, who would have celebrated his 64th birthday on December 22, was reported missing on November 8, after being snatched from his Windsor Park home in California while tending to his animals.
