TWO people accused of killing a man in Wallerfield in 2023 have been released after the prosecution failed to meet court deadlines for advancing the case.

Akeem “Copper” Simon, of Carapo, and 40-year-old Crystal Cindy Le Blanc were discharged last Friday when High Court Master Whitney Franklin declined to grant prosecutors any further time to file an indictment or complete the evidence against them.

The pair had been charged with the murder of 58-year-old Fizam Hosein, who was shot multiple times along Moonan Road, Wallerfield, on May 22, 2023. Simon was charged several months after the killing, while Le Blanc was arrested and charged in September last year.
