A road traffic accident involving a marked police vehicle, a pickup truck, and a passenger van resulted in five people being injured, including two police officers and a child, during a church walk-a-thon escort in Siparia on Saturday morning.
The crash occurred around 8:00 a.m. along the SS Erin Road, near Boodram Trace, while marked police vehicle was escorting the Akash Bani Presbyterian Church Walk-a-thon.
The police vehicle, driven by Sgt Billy, in company with PC Baptiste was proceeding west toward Siparia when an Isuzu D-Max 4x4 pickup collided with the rear of a Toyota Townace van driven by Jaishema Ramsaroop.
