United National Congress leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar dropped another bombshell in prospective candidates for the general election when she announced yesterday that Barry Padarath would contest Couva South.
Padarath replaces the three-time incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) Rudranath Indarsingh. Another prospective candidate — Dr Aiyna Ali — was named by Persad-Bissessar for the constituency of Princes Town, which Padarath has held for two consecutive terms.
Efforts to contact Indarsingh for comment yesterday were futile.
