Defence Minister Wayne Sturge has maintained that information on the country’s military capabilities, defence assets, or requests for equipment cannot be disclosed to the public.
In a statement yesterday, he said such matters must remain confidential to protect national security and operational effectiveness.
On Thursday, at the Americas Counter Cartel Conference in Miami, Florida, USA, Sturge appealed to US Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth for assets to be provided to Trinidad and Tobago to assist in combating drug cartels operating in the Caribbean.
