Customs officers and the police officers seized almost $3 million in illegal drugs on Monday.
A release from the Customs and Excise Division Tuesday reported that on July 14 a joint operation with officers of the Customs and Excise Preventive Branch and a Special Unit of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service led to the discovery of a quantity of imported narcotics out of a transit shed in the Central district.
"Approximately 0.52 kg of a black rock-like material was found which a field test analyzed same to be Methylenedioxymethamphetamine, commonly known as MDMA. Additionally, 5.86 kg of a green plant-like substance, resembling that of marijuana, was found concealed within the shipment," the release stated.
