POLICE intercepted a shipment of illegal narcotics, concealed in barrels, at the port in Port of Spain on Monday, following a co-ordinated intelligence-led operation.
A TTPS press release on Monday said that on November 23, the police received certain information and officers identified a location at the Port Authority, Dock Road, Port of Spain, as the suspected storage point for the illicit cargo.
As a result, Operation Blast – a multi-agency initiative – was executed and surveillance work began. The operation took place between 9 am-12.30 pm on Monday and was co-ordinated by DCP Operations, Suzette Martin, and ACP Tactical Support, Collis Hazel.
