Two Venezuelan nationals were the victims of a home invasion on Wednesday night in Edinburgh Village, Chaguanas, but managed to subdue and disarm the intruder before police arrived.
Around 8:38 p.m., the victims, aged 25 and 28, were at their apartment when they heard a noise in the living room. Upon investigating, they saw a man inside the apartment removing an iPhone 13 Pro Max, valued at $2,000.
One victim confronted the suspect, who pulled a black object resembling a firearm from his waist and announced a robbery. However, the victims realised the weapon was an imitation made of plastic and managed to overpower him. During the struggle, the phone was recovered and the suspect was detained.
