Prime Minister Stuart Young is giving assurances of job safety for workers at the state-run Water and Sewage Authority, as well as those employed with the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission.
During a public meeting in St James on Wednesday night, PM Young dismissed claims by the UNC that there are plans to privatise those organisations and reduce staff.
“That Cabinet Sub-Committee Report [they’re] referring to … was rejected by the Cabinet,” he asserted. “A committee puts forward a report. A committee makes recommendations.”
