A smiling Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar literally ripped up the former government’s national transformation plan for the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) as she announced that her Cabinet has officially rescinded it.
In 2022, the Dr Keith Rowley-led government unveiled plans to restructure the cash-strapped WASA, in an effort to transform it into an efficient and effective State entity.
Speaking yesterday at a post-Cabinet news conference at the Red House, Port of Spain, Persad-Bissessar said the plan was intended to “demonise” workers.
