Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has warned students that failing to take their education seriously could condemn them to a lifetime of low-paying jobs and financial struggle, telling them bluntly that âlife will grind you downâ without an education.
In a hard-hitting back-to-school message, Persad-Bissessar urged students to be disciplined, attend classes, respect teachers and take responsibility for their academic progress.
She also issued a strong message to teachers and principals, urging them to adopt a âzero-tolerance policyâ towards disrespectful and misbehaved students and parents.
