Send misbehaving students home

PRIME Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has told teachers and principals to send misbehaving students straight home, as she called for a zero-tolerance approach to disruptive students and parents when the new academic year begins today.

In a back-to-school message yesterday, Persad-Bissessar urged teachers and principals not to allow badly behaved students to disrupt the education of others.

“To our teachers and principals, your work demands patience, authority, and sound judgment. You carry an immense responsibility, and I thank you for maintaining standards while guiding and encouraging our children,” Persad-Bissessar stated.
