A police officer was injured during a confrontation in Tarodale on Monday evening when he was struck in the face by a bottle thrown during an escalating dispute.
According to police, around 4:30 p.m., officers from the Ste Madeleine Police Station responded to reports of objects being hurled in the Tarodale area. Upon arrival, they observed a group of about ten individuals gathered in the roadway, armed with stones and pieces of concrete. A 43-year-old woman was also standing near the entrance of her yard.
While officers attempted to calm the tense situation, a woman reportedly ran up to the 43-year-old and pushed her, causing her to stumble. Regaining her balance, the woman retaliated by throwing a bottle at her aggressor, but the bottle missed its intended target and struck one of the officers on the left side of his face.
