A police officer suffered a head injury as he attempted to subdue a mentally challenged man on Tuesday night.
The officer, attached to the Couva Police Station, was responding to a disturbance at Carolina Village when the incident happened at around 11pm.
A police report stated that the officer arrived at the scene and was attempting to assist paramedics when the patient began acting violently.
