A 20-year-old man from Debe was attacked and robbed early Monday morning while walking through San Fernando, losing nearly $25,000 in valuables, including jewelry and a smartphone.

The victim, of Wellington Road, Debe, told police that around 12:35 a.m. he was walking east along Scott Street, near David Pitt Street, when he was approached by two men who announced a robbery.

The victim said he fought with the men and suffered minor injuries before the attackers forcibly relieved him of an $18,000 gold chain, a gold hand band worth $1,200, an iPhone valued at $6,000, and $285 in cash.
