OPPOSITION Senator Dr Amery Browne has raised concerns that the Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar’s tone may have fuelled threats against him and his family.
According to police reports, between November 8 and 9, 2025, Browne received threats on his Facebook account where a man threatened to kill him and his children. Then on Tuesday a 48-year-old Diego Martin man was charged with three counts of Threats to Kill and four counts of Misuse of an Electronic Device following an investigation by the police into the online threats made against Browne and his family.
Speaking during a news conference at the Office of the Opposition Leader on Charles Street in Port of Spain, he said while all persons in public life were at risk for such threats, those that were made to his children were concerning.
