ROMAN Catholic Archbishop Fr Jason Gordon said increased fines for drivers would serve as “an important lever for discipline” in the wider society.
“We have become an indisciplined society. Drivers and all this talk about taxation. And it (taxation) has forced all of us to be disciplined. It’s an important lever for discipline. The increase in the age to consume alcohol to 21. Any of the adults who want to drink alcohol will pay a premium price. Huge taxes on alcohol. You have to pay a premium price. We will not stop you,” he said.
He was speaking yesterday at The Samaritan Movement, “The Urgency of Now: A National Call to Save Our Children Together We Heal” news conference at Archbishop’s Residence, Maraval Road, Port of Spain.
