THERE were mixed views from taxi-drivers in Port of Spain yesterday on proposed increases in driving-related fines.
An examination by the Express of the Finance Bill, 2025, found it contained clauses designed to implement a number of measures that had been outlined by Finance Minister Davendranath Tancoo in the 2026 national budget.
The bill, which is expected to be debated in Parliament today, proposes tougher road safety and transport rules, with a slew of higher fines across several traffic laws.
